Arjuna bark is astringent, sweet, acrid, cooling, aphrodisiac, cardiotonic, urinary astringent, expectorant, alexiteric and is useful in fractures, ulcers, cirrhosis of the lever, hyperhidsis, otalgia and hypertension. Clinical evaluation of Terminalia arjuna, India's native Ayurvedic medicine, can be of benefit in treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure, and possibly hypercholesterolemia and also found to be antibacterial & antimutagenic.
